memories of gembrook

I've made it to the fun part. I've begun quilting memories of gembrook by Rosalie Dekker. This quilt is my largest all applique that I've actually finished. It made me really ready to get into my old projects and complete something else. This was a joy to applique with this linen cotton blend fabric I ordered from Australia. I really am tempted to order another package.

Memories of Gembrook. Block 3

I've just finished the center block of "Memories of Gembrook" by Rosalie Dekker. This block is the whole reason I started this quilt. It is very time consuming. I have been trying the appliquick method with this block. I find it was helpful on the deer, but not so much on the circles. I'm going back to the starch method for circles on next block.

New Year and making progress

I have been working on quite a few projects the last couple of weeks. I feel like I'm starting to make some good progress. I also did a little quilt room clean out and organization. I also learned to crochet and am planning on doing more of that also.

These three blocks are Enchanted Garden by Laundry Basket Quilts. My friend Cheri prepped these years ago. 2010 to be exact. I got them from her as she didn't want to finish them. I picked them up in December and am on a roll. I hope this will be a 2016 finish

This is my first crochet attempt. A ponytail hat.

I also made a knitted version. I was happy to use yarn I had on hand. But then. Of course went out and bought more than I started with.

I also just started a new applique quilt today and it needs to be done by May so it will be my major focus.

Down in the Garden. Block 6

I'm writing this with a heavy heart. My golden retriever lost his battle with cancer. He was such a special dog. He is in most every quilt picture I've finished over the last 12 years. When I took the picture of him on the bed with quilt blocks I wondered if it might be his last quilt picture. I have been working on some old projects and happy with my progress.

I finished block 6 yesterday. This is Block 6 of Down in the Garden by Leanne Beasley.

At Home in the Garden

I've been on a garden block quilt. This finished top is At Home in the Garden by Norma Whaley.

I also finished this brain frieze scarf. I can't get enough of his one.

- and this is my sweet rocket with my stonefields blocks.

We had a camping weekend. It was picture perfect our. 75 and sunny and we were lakeside. I was able tonight this brain frieze cowl. It's super soft and I really like this pattern.

While camping Gracie patrolled and I finished a few more hexies.
