Benjamin Biggs block one complete

This is the first block completed in the quilt. I hand appliqued using the back basting method. It worked really nice on the large piece.

Start of the Benjamin Biggs quilt

Today I officially started work on the Benjamin Biggs quilt. I'm also giving back basting it's first try. I liked the ease of getting ready and the basting onto the background feels stable. Not sure if the points and curves are as good as using the freezer paper method. But it is good to try new things. My two good friends are a,so working on same quilt. It's a block of month from sentimental stitches and dear jane

An obsession or diversion?

I usually work on projects really slow. But I made the brown infinity scarf and I got hooked. So I went shopping in my yarn stash and made two more cowls. It's a drop stitch pattern and the first time knitting in a circle. I casted on much tighter than off, but I'm still learning and it looks nice on.

This wool one is my favorite.

- Again Gracie is helping me. I'm itching to go buy more yarn. But I also need to get back to my first love of quilting.

Getting close on triple 4 patch

About 25 blocks to go! I'm pleased with how the colors are going together. I didn't do any color planning. Just cut scraps and sewed. Gracie is helping me arrange them.

Inspiration

Went to the quilt show in shell knob yesterday. I was inspired by this t shirt quilt. I've been saving shirts and this setting is exactly what I'm looking for!

- so the show always puts me in the mood. So I finished six more blocks today. 39 done. 81 to go. So happy to be 1/3 done.

Loving my scrap quilt

I'm getting more blocks ready for my triple 4 patch. I have 33 complete and it's just been a joy to work on. Old scrap quilts were what I always loved about quilting. And going through my stash has reminded me of that love. I even opened a couple of kits that I decided I would never do and that freed me from the feeling of an undone project. And added more wonderful fabric to my stash. I'm sure at some point I will fall in love with a pattern with wonderfully matched fabric. But right now I can't wait to start my next scrappy quilt.
