Down in the Garden. Block 6

I'm writing this with a heavy heart. My golden retriever lost his battle with cancer. He was such a special dog. He is in most every quilt picture I've finished over the last 12 years. When I took the picture of him on the bed with quilt blocks I wondered if it might be his last quilt picture. I have been working on some old projects and happy with my progress.

I finished block 6 yesterday. This is Block 6 of Down in the Garden by Leanne Beasley.

At Home in the Garden

I've been on a garden block quilt. This finished top is At Home in the Garden by Norma Whaley.

I also finished this brain frieze scarf. I can't get enough of his one.

- and this is my sweet rocket with my stonefields blocks.

While camping Gracie patrolled and I finished a few more hexies.

down in the Garden Block 5

I just finished this block today. If I had to estimate the hours I worked on it, I would say 40-50. I started it may 27th. And I vowed I wouldn't do any other handwork till it was finished. This was my first try at working on only one thing. It was tough but so glad I accomplished what I set out to do. I have a few other small quilt blocks to get back to before I start block 6.

Down in the Garden. Block 4

It was an amazing January weekend here in Missouri. Sunny and almost 70. We spent some time outside.

Rocket even was able to take a swim.

And then I was able to do some sewing. I finished block 4 of Down in the Garden by Leanne Beasley. This is such a lovely quilt and sew fun to do. It is very labor intensive and takes lots of hours but will be an heirloom. At least I hope so.

First quilt

It was a really cold January weekend. But mellisa came to visit and we finished her first quilt. She bought Minnie fabric for her first sewing. Brave girl. She used a lot of pins and sewed it up perfectly. Then she made a couple burp rags to go with this gift.

At home in the garden

This is a pic of table rock dam. We just had record flooding and all the gates were open releasing a record amount of water per second.

This is block 6 of at home in the garden. I am really liking how this is coming along.
